The name of this type of pool comes from the 100 squares that comprise the pool's board. The board is a 10x10 grid of boxes where each row and column are assigned a number from 0 to 9. At the end of each quarter of the game, the last digit of both NFL teams' score is compared to the grid to determine a winner.
The following is an example from a previous Super Bowl between the New York Giants and the New England Patriots. The following is each teams score after each quarter:
A winner will be determined at the end of the 1st quarter, 2nd quarter, 3rd quarter, 4th Quarter, and Final Score. The winner is determined by looking at the last number in each teams' score, and then matching those numbers on the grid and seeing which square intersects those two numbers. As an example, based on the above score at halftime it was the New York Giants 9, and the New England Patriots 10. The last number for the Giants is 9, and the last number for the Patriots is 0. The square on the grid that has the Giants with a score of 9, and Patriots score of 0 is a winner.
